Glow in the Dark Table Top
Combining their love of football and sleep, TheDIYMaker wanted to make themselves a bedside table using glow in the dark pigment.
Laser-etching the logo of their favourite team into 5mm veneered wood, they then laser-cut the letters out and sanded the veneer to clean up any charring. The veneer was then glued to 7mm plywood, and then mixed the glow in the dark pigments with resin and filled the letters. After curing for 24 hours, they then poured a final coat of resin over the entire top to give a hard and shiny finish.
This started out as a bedside table, as TheDIYMaker found the glow helpful for fiddling about without having to turn the lights back on, but they liked the design so much that they mounted it on the wall instead. Don't limit yourself to your favourite football team, this method could work with so many different designs! Find out how to make your own over on Instructables.
